Our client in the Parkstad area is looking for a Medior Business Controller.

As Business Controller you will support and advise the Finance Manager, the Operations Manager and the organization on business economics. You are responsible for the quality of the steering information and expand it based on what you think the organization should use and based on requests from the organization. You develop and compile up-to-date reports, making use of various data sources and reporting possibilities.

Spearheads of your information provision include the Finance, Operations, Logistics and Technical Departments. In addition, the returns of clients from top level to bottle, are also part of your periodic reports. You enjoy a high degree of freedom to shape processes and reports to your best judgment in cooperation with the Manager Finance. You derive satisfaction from continuously and further improving the organization through your analyses and subsequent improvements. You take your colleagues and the organization along with you.

You are broadly applicable within controlling, where the emphasis will be on Business Control. Therefore, in addition to your ability to make data transparent, you also need to have a good basis in the field of accounting and financial administration. Not only do you know how to translate finance into business, but you also know how the figures are generated. In the absence of the Senior Financial Controller you can observe his activities. Of course, this also works the other way around.

What will you do?
  • Working with the Finance team to keep records up-to-date focused on business control.
  • Further optimize together the processes and design of the administration so that we have the information available for reporting quickly and accurately.
  • Support month-end closing where there is a clear interface with business control.
  • Monitor KPIs and notice, analyze and report deviations.
  • You will develop, maintain and help provide monthly management information and prepare analysis and forecasts for the story behind the numbers.
  • You stay abreast of recent developments that impact management reporting.
  • Help review budget proposals and check them against guidelines.
  • You participate in the departmental and company-wide budgeting process.
  • Support in year-end closing and audit preparation.
  • You identify developments in the field of laws, regulations and guidelines and actively contribute to complying with them.
  • Prepare periodic cost price calculations and monitor margins at customer and item level and market.
  • You act as project leader of (sub) projects of process improvements, among others.
  • You report on risks, relevant developments and performance indicators.
  • You will develop and implement control methodologies to identify bottlenecks in a timely manner, control costs and provide insight into financial data in areas such as profitability, efficiency and productivity.
  • You take care of accurate quotation processes and investment projects (integral costing), in close cooperation with the Senior Financial Controller and all departments.
  • You ensure the reliability of management information and the sources on which it is based.
  • You liaise internally with stakeholders on financial matters, advising, monitoring schedules and facilitating reconciliation.
  • In the absence of the Senior Financial Controller, you will assume his role and responsibilities.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with Exact Globe and Excel, knowledge of and experience with Sumatra reporting tool is a plus.
  • You have a completed college or university degree in Finance, Business Economics or Accountancy.
  • You are proactive, accurate and have strong communication skills and knowledge of your field.
  • You have at least five years of work experience in a similar position.
  • You have an affinity for ICT. You are analytically strong and have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • You have good communication skills, both oral and written.
Salary
  • €4500-€5500 per month, depending on knowledge and experience.
