For the site in Heerlen, they are looking for a Team Lead Work Preparation who wants to combine their experience as a senior work planner with an active role in team development and collaboration.
The position in brief
In this role, you are primarily a work planner and also the substantive and operational point of contact for the team (with hierarchical responsibility). The work largely consists of executive tasks within work preparation. Additionally, there is a supplementary role as team lead, where you manage the team alongside your existing position.
You therefore remain firmly rooted in the practical side of things, while simultaneously contributing to the further professionalization of the team.
What will you be doing?
- Work Preparation
- You prepare maintenance and construction work so that it can be carried out safely, efficiently, and predictably:
- Assessing work orders for completeness, clarity, and feasibility.
- Preparing maintenance and construction work within budget and schedule.
- Coordinating and reserving necessary resources, materials, and external parties.
- Drafting and managing work packages (technical documentation, schedules, work permits).
- Assessing and verifying work in the field, in close coordination with maintenance and operations.
- Monitoring and comparing costs (budgeted versus actual).
- Evaluating completed work and initiating improvement proposals.
- Working in accordance with applicable Quality Environment Safety Security Health (QESSH) guidelines.
Work Preparation Team Lead
- In this role, you are the manager of the Work Preparation team (including MRO and Guidance & Control) and responsible for daily management and team development. In addition to your substantive role, you make an active contribution to the team and the organization:
- Leading and coaching fellow work planners in their daily work.
- Organizingand streamlining team tasks and work processes.
- Identifying bottlenecks and contributing ideas for structural solutions.
- Encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration, both within the team and with other departments.
- Monitoring progress and reporting back to management.
- Conducting performance and appraisal interviews and actively steering the development and performance of team members.
- Active participation in: the Maintenance & Projects (M&P) leadership team - the APM Site Heerlen leadership group
Who are we looking for?
- You are an experienced professional who combines technical expertise with natural leadership.
- MBO 4/HBO working and thinking level, preferably in a technical field.
- Extensive experience as a work planner / maintenance field planner in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Ideally in the process industry with insight into SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) requirements. Seniority in the field; you are able to maintain an overview and set priorities.
- Experience with or a clear ambition towards a coordinating or team lead role.
- Strong communication skills and a collegial, coaching style.
- Analytical, structured, and continuously focused on improvement.
- High safety awareness and a sense of quality.
- Flexible mindset; you know how to balance short-term urgencies from Operations with long-term planned activities.
